At Xiong United of MN, Inc., we are committed to supporting the educational aspirations and cultural heritage of the Hmong community in Minnesota. As part of our dedication to fostering academic success and cultural enrichment, we are proud to offer the Xiong United of Minnesota Scholarship program.
2026 Scholarship Details
- 10 scholarships available
- $1,000 per award
- Open to high school seniors and current college students (excluding post-graduate)
These scholarships are designed to support students as they continue their educational journey and make a positive impact in their communities.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Xiong United of MN Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Graduating high school senior or currently enrolled college student (excluding post-graduate)
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Minnesota resident
- Member of the Xiong clan
- Willing to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours with Xiong United of MN within one year if selected
- Submit a typed essay (maximum 500 words)
- Must not be a previous recipient of the Xiong United of MN Scholarship
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed scholarship application form
- Typed essay (maximum 500 words)
- Most recent school transcript
- College acceptance letter (if applicable)

Important Dates
Application Deadline: July 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM CST
Recipient Notification: August 9, 2026
Scholarship Award Event: August 23, 2026
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarship Award Date
Scholarships will be awarded on August 23, 2026, at the Xiong United of MN Scholarship Award Banquet at Puzzle’s Bar Restaurant and Banquet, 2231 11th Ave, Suite A, North St Paul, MN 55109. All selected applicants must be present at the event to receive their scholarship. Recipients will be notified in advance via email and announced on our website.
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed and selected by an independent committee consisting of volunteers from the Xiong community in Minnesota.
Selection is based on:
Academic effort and performance
Quality of essay submission
Community involvement and leadership
Overall application completeness
